Information for teachers and parents

We expect that each school will obtain appropriate parental consent for each student attending the Youth Conference in line with its usual practices.

We expect that each school will follow its normal excursion procedure in sending students to the Youth Conference, including having an appropriate number of teachers to supervise them during the day.

Each school is responsible for transporting students to and from the event venue.

Students will need to bring or buy their own food. We will not be responsible for students who might leave the venue to purchase food. Supervising teachers will need to monitor this.

All payments received before the Youth Conference will receive a confirmation of payment and registration by email. Registrations cancelled no later than seven days before the event will receive a full refund of any amount paid, less a $15 administration fee per registrant. Registrations can be transferred to other persons. Please let us know of any changes before the event so that we can update our records.

We will be filming and taking photos of both students and teachers at the Youth Conference. This may include one-on-one interviews with the interviewees’ consent. These materials may be used for Youth Conference and 40 Hour Famine promotional purposes and may be disclosed to other organisations (such as media or advertising agencies) to prepare promotional material. By registering for and attending the Youth Conference, each teacher and student is consenting to being filmed and photographed in a general sense and to being approached for interview. Parents please not that you will be presumed to have consented to any filming or photographing of your child at the Youth Conference.

World Vision is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information provided to us. Information that you provide will be used to enable us to arrange this event, including sending you information about it. See our Privacy Statement on our website or call 13 32 40. We don’t rent, sell or exchange your information without your permission.

By students and teachers participating in the Youth Conference, schools, teachers, parents and students release World Vision Australia from (and indemnify it against) any claim they may have against it (including any arising out of the matters listed on this webpage) except where it has been grossly negligent.
